London Films was founded in 1932 by the celebrated Hungarian producer Alexander Korda. It quickly became one of the foremost British film production companies, winning four Academy Awards and twelve Academy Award nominations.

During the 1970’s, the company excelled in the field of high quality drama for television. It’s co-productions with the BBC such as I Claudius, Poldark, Testament of Youth and The Old Men at the Zoo were acclaimed worldwide.

In 1992, Lady Chatterley, directed by Ken Russell, scored record breaking ratings for BBC-TV. The most recent production is a new series of TV films of The Scarlet Pimpernel for the BBC, starring Richard E. Grant and Elisabeth McGovern.
