Based on the classic novel by Rudyard Kipling this unusual film, made by London Films for CBS, dramatises the remarkable childhood of the happy-go-lucky waif, Kim. Through the dusty streets and dramatic mountains of India in the 1890s we follow Kim on his voyage of discovery. Befriended by an old Buddhist lama and adopted by the British Maverick Regiment, sent to private school and employed as a secret agent, Kim’s adventures are dominated by his desire to uncover his true origins. These extraordinary events lead Kim along a dangerous and often unhappy path, but his spirit shines through to provide us with a rare and exciting adventure story.
